Below are places to go and things to do for a day in the orchard all around our area.
Types of Apples and Reasons to Eat Them
Curious about the wide varieties of apples and what they're used for and taste like? Check out this neat page from Apple Country that provides photos and information. And, just to make you feel even better about taking your family out for a day picking apples, here is an article on the health benefits of a trip to the apple orchard.
The State of Connecticut's Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) program requires that pets not accompany owners into orchards. And one last thing: If a grower does not have a web site listing hours, PLEASE call first to make sure they are open! (This is experience talking!)
