On Saturday August 26 at 8:30pm join our team of astronomers as we gaze through the telescopes at the five-day old moon, Jupiter with its bright moons, and Saturn with its magnificent rings. Our astronomers will also point out and discuss various gaseous nebulae and star clusters in addition to many summer constellations including Cygnus the swan, Aquila the eagle, and Lyra the vulture carrying a lyre.
Please note, at 8pm families are invited to a special preview in the Learning Center classroom. This mini-lesson will give participants, especially children, a better understanding of what they will be viewing out on the hill.
Please bring a flashlight for the walk from the parking area to the observatory, and binoculars, if you have them.
This program is $4 per New Pond Farm member, with a maximum of $16 per member family, and $6 per non-member, with a maximum of $24 per family.
