The perfect event for conservationists, nature enthusiasts, students and families looking to fight the winter cabin fever, hop onto the Eagle Flyer at Essex Station this February! This 2½-hour eco-excursion through the Connecticut River Valley offers an unadulterated view of the landscape and its wildlife from the heated comfort of our Coaches ($25 adult, $15 child, under 2 free) or First Class ($40 all ages) train cars. Master Wildlife Conservationists from CT’s DEEP will be onboard to discuss and share expert information about the wildlife indigenous to the region. Bring binoculars so you don’t miss a thing!
While you take in the landscape and its animal inhabitants, choose to enjoy delicious fresh soups and sandwiches made to order, leaving you with nary a need during this perfect New England outing! Passengers in First Class are offered food & beverage service directly from their seat, while passengers in Coach can take a short walk to the dining car. Making local stops in Deep River, Chester, East Haddam, Haddam and Hadlyme, this fun-filled educational journey will leave you refreshed and informed about the beautiful natural world around us. New this year, riders can choose to embark on a ½ hour shopping excursion at the Goodspeed Station Country Store or stay onboard for an extended ride on the newly-opened scenic track along the CT River in Haddam.
Trains depart at 11AM & 2PM on President’s Day Weekend, February 17-19 & 24-25. Local residents may board at their nearby train station (see schedule online). Visit EssexSteamTrain.com and reserve your seat on this magical nature ride today!
