Based at Bush-Holley Historic Site, the camp offers a highly interactive, two-week experience for kids entering grades 2-7.
Week 1 for both age groups: Children learn about Colonial life through baking, soap- and candle making, weaving, and role-play relating to life in the house in the early 1800s.
Week 2 for both age groups: The emphasis is on fine art techniques with instruction in painting, pastels, ink drawing and sculpture in reference to the American Impressionist art colony that was headquartered at the Holley boarding house.
The professional camp staff includes museum educators, working artists, musicians, re-enactors and counselors who have a special interest in art and history.
Camp hours are Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Senior Historians, grades 4-7: July 10 to 21.
Junior Historians, grades 2-4: July 24 to August 4.
Early bird rate until April 1: $550 for two-week session, $350 for one week, plus $50 membership fee.
After April 1: $700 for two weeks, $450 for one week, plus $65 membership fee.
A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.
