Second Chances: Learn about wildlife rescue
SECOND CHANCES (opened Feb. 3) The Center is closed on Monday Feb. 20
Joan Carruthers, local photographer and licensed wildlife rehabilitator, shares not only her photography but her experiences with and passion for wildlife, in this informative exhibit, Second Chances. “Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release” are the principles that guide Joan’s work ethic and beliefs. “Respect and Protect” is her motto.
This exhibit features Joan’s photographs of squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, skunks, woodchucks, bunnies, opossums, birds and a little mouse — all creatures rescued from the wild. The mock habitats for these critters, what to do when you find an animal in crisis and the tools of her trade, give you a glimpse into the world of the dedicated animal rehabilitator.
A special family program, featuring Dr. Charles Duffy of the Norwalk Veterinary Hospital;
Patrick Moore, Vice President of Animal Nation; Deborah Galle, a newly licensed wildlife rehabilitator; and Joan Carruthers, will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 3:00 pm. This is a program you won’t want to miss! Join us for the moving tales of Second Chances!!
All photographs are available for purchase, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Animal Nation.
