The Stamford JCC is hosting a workshop for parents "Special Education Law and Your Child's Rights: Navigating Parents Through The Process of Obtaining an Appropriate Education" on April 20th at 7:00 p.m.
The speakers are special education law attorney Lawrence Berliner, Dr. Mark Beitel (co-founder of the therapeutic day school The Westport Day School), and Dr. Dawn Matera (co-founder of The Westport Day School).
This workshop will focus on:
-Challenges facing parents when their child refuses to go to school
-Your Child's Basic Educational Rights
-Top 10 Checklist: Strategies for the school year and beyond
-Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Goals and Objectives
