What our organization offers:
Subjects / Categories:
Founded in 1961, the Children’s Jewish Education Group (CJEG) is a cooperative school developed and run by parents. We are a welcoming, relaxed, and diverse group for those families looking for an alternative to temple-based Hebrew school. We have classes from kindergarten through 7th grade, with the option of Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons. We enable self identity by teaching Jewish customs, traditions and holiday celebrations. We believe that instilling a Jewish identity can be educational and fun! From Kindergarten through seventh grade, CJEG provides our students with a foundation to experience the joy, pride, and appreciation of being Jewish. A wealth of Jewish traditions, history, music, art, and holiday celebrations are shared by classmates as they discover the richness and uniqueness of our heritage. Our paid staff includes an education director and several teachers. We also have alumni who volunteer as teacher’s aides.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Lessons are Available For those families who are interested, our seventh grade teacher conducts additional classes for students who wish to prepare for becoming a bar or bat mitzvah. Individual tutoring is also available.
