Darien Arts Center Summer Classes and Camp Calendar

Summer Camps:
NEW: Performance Kids, for ages 3-5, children create costumes, scenery, learn songs, dances and perform a mini-show, $200-$700.
Cartooning/Graphic Novel Summer Camp- for Grades 2-6, In this class, each student will create their own short comic strip. They will learn how to illustrate the comics, and write text to go along with it.
Students will create their own characters, with focus on facial expressions, body language, and the use of color. At the end of the class, each student will have their own comic strip to take home.
Art in Movement- grades 1-5, The class will combine the art of yoga and dance with learning the basic techniques of drawing and sketching.
Music:
Young Composers Camp- Grade 3-High School- Within a friendly and supportive atmosphere, students will learn a variety of compositional techniques including writing short pieces using harmonic progressions, form, melody and voice leading, as well as orchestration.
Dance:
Dance Intensive, for grades 2-5, ncluding jazz, modern, tap, ballet, theatre arts, improv & yoga, $350-$900
Ballet Intensive/Pointe, by permission, for intermediate and advanced students, includes pointe work. $375.
