Family Fun Program: Trees on the Farm Event

Auerfarm’s Family Fun on the Farm programs are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month this fall. Bring your family and learn about the magical life of trees and what types of trees grow on the farm. Where do the fall colors come from? Hands-on opportunity to create your own journal of fall leaves. The bi-monthly educational afternoon programs will include hands-on interactive and farm-based education activities.

Fall into Family Fun Farm-Based Educational Programs at Auerfarm

Fall into the Auerfarm’s Family Fun on the Farm programs held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month this fall.

This Sunday, October 10, is the Trees on the Farm program. Bring your family and learn about the magical life of trees and what types of trees grow on the farm. Where do the fall colors come from? Hands-on opportunity to create your own journal of fall leaves.

The bi-monthly educational afternoon programs will include hands-on interactive and place-based education activities to get the whole family involved from 2:00pm to 3:30pm. We have a variety of educational themes with fun entertaining and activities planned for each program to engage participants in learning about agriculture and environmental topics.

Save the dates for the upcoming Family Fun on the Farm Program events:

10/10/21 - Auerfarm Trees on the F: Learn about the magical life of trees and what trees grow on the farm.  Where do the fall colors come from? Create your own journal of fall leaves.

10/24/21 - Fascinating Bats: Learn about these misunderstood creatures and why they are important to our environment. Join us in making bat wings and flying around the farm!

11/14/21 - Food, Land, and People: Learn about how corn and other native crops grow and are cooked. Make miniature scarecrows for play and/or decoration. Explore Native American Folklore relating to food production and harvest.

11/28/21 - Treasure Hunt Hike: Put on comfy shoes, pack water and join a guided treasure hunt. Answer riddles, observe, hike, find that treasure, and simply have fun!

12/12/21 - Gifts of Winter: Learn how Auerfarm prepares for winter and observe changes in wildlife associated with the coming cold. Work on farm craft including fiber felting and making beeswax starters.

State of Connecticut Covid-19 safety restrictions are in effect with social distancing and masks. Cost: $10 per person, children 2 and under attend for free.
