Learn how to turn your smartphone into a camera package and make movies at the Ridgefield Playhouse this summer! Filmmaker Katie Torpey will teach tweens and teens the fundamentals of filmmaking and visual storytelling using your smartphone. Campers will watch and analyze movies, receive hands-on instruction on storytelling, writing, directing, editing, camera equipment and lens. During the 2-week session, each camper will make their own short film and collaborate with other campers to make a film together. Every camper will get to show their film on the big screen and leave camp with the knowledge, skills and equipment to go off and make their own films in the future.
