The Fairfield University Bookstore once again teams up with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School of Fairfield and Homefront Farmers of Ridgefield for a second year to offer kids ages 3 & up a garden experience to remember. This event is free and open to the public! RSVP: FairfieldUBookstoreEvents@gmail.com. Space is limited.

On Friday, August 2, 2019 beginning at 9:30am on the 2nd floor of the downtown Fairfield University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road in Fairfield, CT 06824 (203) 255-7756, beloved author/illustrator Lizzy Rockwell will read aloud her book, Plants Feed Me. Lizzy’s books will be available for purchase/signing at the event and garden baskets will be passed out to all who attend. Lizzy will join the group on a short walk to St. Thomas Aquinas School’s organic garden, where kids will learn how to harvest vegetables led by Homefront Farmers of Ridgefield.

Plants Feed Me is an elegant, easy-to-read children’s book with beautiful illustrations describing the parts of plants that humans eat. Watermelons are fruits. Cabbages are leaves. Walnuts are seeds. Carrots are roots. People eat many parts of plants. Even flowers!
