Learn how to paint outdoors!
Meets every Wednesday @ 4:30pm-6: 30pm in-person outdoors in surrounding areas of Dumbo.
For Intermediate/Advanced Teens 14-16 yrs ( for those who have taken our Foundation Course)
The French term plein air means out of doors and refers to the practice of painting entire finished pictures out of doors. Plain Air Painting inspires students to respond & record their surroundings in a highly individual & authentic way- the light changes quickly outside, so you will learn how to paint quickly & by pushing yourself to paint quickly and mix color accurately, you improve your painting skills and hone your abilities. In a full class course, students learn how to employ painting techniques & different brush applications: how to use color and light, perspective and shadows to create drama & give your work depth. Work in abstract form or realistically- its up to you! This is also an awesome painting class for teens already showing a keen interest in pursuing a career in the visual arts or those thinking about putting together a portfolio. On bad weather days we will stay in studio and take inspiration from personal references- photos and pictures that inspire us or continue on unfinished pieces.
For this class we will meet promptly at our studio & go together to our location in our nearby Brooklyn bridge Parks & surrounding areas in Dumbo. On bad weather days sessions will be in-studio.
Fees Include all art supplies, but NOT large canvas, if you require a large size canvas please purchase and bring with you to class.

Limited availability & safety restrictions apply. Masks are still required outdoors until further notice, but students can spread out in a socially distanced way.
Prior registration is required. All students must sign our Class Waiver & Liability Form prior to arrival, this will automatically pop up when you register. This is mandatory during the current crisis.
