Star Wars Reads Day Returns with Music, an Author and Lightsabers!

As we look forward to the release of the next Star Wars film in December, The Rise of Skywalker, join us as we celebrate Star Wars Reads Day – one of the library’s most popular events for all ages – on Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

As we look forward to the release of the next Star Wars film in December, The Rise of Skywalker, join us as we celebrate Star Wars Reads Day – one of the library’s most popular events for all ages – on Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character if you’d like (adults, too!) and stop in for a chance to win prizes, make your own lightsaber, play Star Wars games and experiment with our new Kano kit. Author Jason Fry will pay a special visit at 11:00 am to talk about all things Star Wars. Fry is the author of more than 40 books and short stories set in the Star Wars galaxy. At 2:30 pm musicologist Gil Harel will present “The Music of Star Wars”. In the Children’s Department there will be a Star Wars story time at 10:30 am and then games, crafts and button-making all day. At noon and 1:00 pm sign up for Padawan Training and learn how to wield a lightsaber with the Connecticut Saber Guild (registration required) and at 2:00 pm there will be a Star Wars LEGO build. In the Teen Room there will be Star Wars crafts, button-making, Kahoots Trivia and Bingo. For more details on these events, please refer to the Library’s online calendar.
