Summer is a time for outdoor adventures, lots of water play, making new friends, and learning new skills. Toddlers through preschoolers will find a world of excitement and adventure in our summer programs. Days are filled with field trips, special programs that encourage self-discovery, and visits from our animal friends. A Child's Place has summer programs for young twos through almost kindergarten kids. We maintain the same high standards of care and caring found in our school year programs while making sure that every child enjoys the special pleasures that only summer can provide.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

The Whales Program is designed for 2 years old by September 1st and who still need plenty of individualized attention. This will be provided by our high staff ratio of 1 teacher to every 3 children.

Some of the planned “highlights” for the children to enjoy will be outdoor sprinkler fun, special visits from a magician, a puppeteer, building sand castles, a P.J party, cooking projects, music and movement, an “all school” dance party, arts and crafts, library time, and more. An extended play program is offered until 1:30. Be prepared to have FUN !!!

The Sharks Program is designed for three year olds who are rapidly growing into eager preschoolers. During the Three’s stage of development children are filled with curiosity and exploration. In school activities will be “camp like” and FUN. They will include crazy hat day, a P.J party, water play, an “all school” dance party, cooking activities, arts and crafts, sports, story - telling, and more. An extended play program is offered until 2:00.

The Sea Turtles program is designed to meet the needs of children who are 4 years old by December 31st. An Adventure Club Program is offered until 3:15 p.m. The Sea Turtles program will take place at our school. Many activities will be incorporated into your child’s day. We plan to take field-trips to the beach every Tuesday so the children can enjoy the natural beauty of the shoreline as well as sand, water play, and nature activities. In house specials and occasional out of house Friday field trips will also be part of the Sea Turtle fun.

Grouping of children is kept small 1 counselor for 6 children. Dattco buses will provide all of our transportation.

The Star Fish Prekindergarten Program

Our Star Fish program is designed to meet the needs of children entering Kindergarten or a Fives Program in September or who are going to be 5 years old by December 31st. Every Tuesday the Star Fish will be bused to Compo Beach to experience water play, sandcastle building and playground fun. A weekly field trip is scheduled for Wednesdays for the Pre-K group. An Adventure Club is offered until 3:15 p.m.

Grouping of children is 3 counselors for 20 children. Dattco buses will provide all of our transportation.
