Vernal Pool Guided Hike

Join the Bethlehem Land Trust short hike to the vernal pool located on the Bellamy-Ferriday Preserve on Main Street North. The group will take a short hike into the preserve to the vernal pool and will hopefully see the Wood Frog eggs that are laid in the water and also the Spotted Salamander eggs which are laid on trees and branches that are in the vernal pool. This hike will be led by a board member and Cynthia Rabinowitz answer questions and explain why frogs and salamanders use vernal pools for hatcheries.

Participants can bring snacks and drinks to have during the event.
Anyone who wants to participate can email Stuart at bethlehemlandtrustct@gmail.com or just show up at the preserve.
All participants will be required to wear a face mask and exercise social distancing.
