From the Author
A native of the Connecticut shoreline, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have sand between my toes and a book in my hands. As a child, I satisfied my curiosity for the natural world by spending long days exploring the woods, shore, and fields near my home. I took summer classes at my local Audubon sanctuary, and I watched every National Geographic and Jacques Cousteau documentary I could find. Not so surprisingly then, as an adult, I have turned toward the beauty and poetry of the natural world for inspiration.
