LEGO® Weekend at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

Help LEGO® experts create an enormous Aquarium-themed scene using everyone’s favorite building blocks during “LEGO Weekend” Jan. 26 and 27 at The Maritime Aquarium! Throughout the weekend, LEGO experts from Play-Well TEKnologies will engineer a big fun project made entirely out of LEGO blocks in Newman’s Own Hall. The experts will create the scene, but it needs animals! Aquarium guests can build a small LEGO marine creature that will be part of the finished piece, or create pieces of their choosing. Look for additional LEGO-focused activities in the Aquarium during the special weekend. Attention Aquarium Members! Join us at 9 a.m. both Saturday & Sunday for special early access to "LEGO Weekend."

SPRING BREAK "MINI" 3-DAY THEATRE CAMP at Spotlight Arts

Join us for 3 days of theatre fun during your spring break! Our spring break mini-camp is a 3-day program designed to provide light-hearted theatre and fun for ages 6 - 14. Students work on their acting, singing and dance skills while preparing a cabaret performance including duets, solos & full company numbers from all different broadway and musical theatre hits, including Aladdin, Matilda, Mary Poppins, Wicked, and more! Students also engage in improv and comedy specials, dance, crafts, and other theatre-related activities. The cabaret performance takes place on Day 3 at 3pm.

Spring Musical Theatre Workshop 2019 at Spotlight Arts- ANNIE Jr. (Ages 6-16)

Join Spotlight Arts for a unique performance training experience! This 12-week program meets once a week for twelve sessions and the end result is a full workshop production of the classic musical, "ANNIE" Jr. The last session of the 12 weeks is a full dress rehearsal and the performance dates on May 3rd & 4th include a second dress rehearsal followed by the workshop performance. Students experience a full production with costumes, lighting, sound & scenery at a local theatre.

Flanders Nature Center presents Eagle Viewing at Shepaug Dam

Come join a group from Flanders for an eagle watch at the Shepaug Dam recreation area in Southbury. A time slot of 9:30 to 10:30 AM has been reserved for the group and a docent will be on hand to help with the viewing and to answer questions about America's national symbol. There is a limited number of spotting scopes available at the site, so feel free to bring binoculars, spotting scopes and cameras. Space is limited and you must preregister.

Maple Sugaring Class at Common Ground

February and March are sugaring season in Connecticut. The sap flows strongly on sunny mornings when it is just above freezing. Hopefully we will catch a sap run and taste some sap right from the trees! We will check out the Sugar Shack and see where the sap is boiled into syrup, make and eat pancakes cooked on campfire (weather-permitting), and explore the forest for signs of spring.

Fairfield Museum presents: Alice in Museum Land

Visitors of all ages are invited to stumble down the rabbit hole into the story of Alice in Wonderland.
