The Emelin Theatre is proud to present Nutcracker Dream: Inspired by the work of Rudolf Nureyev and Marius Petipa, this 90-minute family-friendly adaptation by French-American choreographer Carole Alexis is an exquisite interpretation of the beloved holiday classic. Professional dancers of Ballet des Amériques will perform the featured roles of the ballet, with additional roles performed by young dancers from our area selected by auditions.
Families gather around the campfire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores! We provide the ingredients, but please provide your own roasting sticks. You will also meet an animal ambassador and participate in a guided activity! There is a different theme for each campfire. Earthplace encourages those with special needs to participate in this event.
All new for 2024, the Hartford Symphony’s traditional Holiday Cirque! concert is reimagined as Holiday Cirque! Sugar Plum Fantasy! Holiday favorites and classic music from the Nutcracker will be set against the breathtaking feats of astonishing aerialists, contortionists, and gymnasts as they tumble, soar, and dance on and above the stage to tell the timeless Nutcracker tale. It’s a holiday extravaganza you won’t want to miss – with a Nutcracker twist!
Experience our birds of prey outside their enclosures! On the first Sunday of the month, we host a bird-on-glove demonstration where you can learn all about some of our magnificent raptors. Naturalists will discuss the animals’ traits, behaviors, and unique characteristics while the birds interact with their handlers.
