Janet Battey Dziekonski, President of the Westport Young Woman’s League, commented: “The Westport Young Woman's League is thrilled to be able to hold our 43rd Minute Man Race in person at Compo Beach this year. Last year COVID forced us to hold the race virtually, but this year we are confident that the race can be held safely in person! The Minute Man Race is one of our two main fundraisers, which allow us to give grants to deserving charities throughout Westport and Fairfield County. Since 1956, the Westport Young Woman's League has distributed over $4.3 million in grants to local and education based charities. The Minute Man Race is a fun family event. We hope to see everyone there!”
The main event will consist of a certified USA Track and Field 10K Run and 5K Run, and 5K Walk. A Kids Fun Run will include a 100-yard dash, half-mile run and one-mile run. A Kids Zone will again feature numerous kid-friendly activities for families to enjoy during and after the race!
