Children's Safety Event

Parents of all children worry about safety concerns (“What if my child gets lost?” … “What if my child gets hurt?”). Some children with special needs may be more likely to engage in behaviors (such as wandering, bolting, or difficulties discriminating between “strangers” and familiar people) that often contribute to increased safety concerns.
Gold Coast Children’s Center and Seth Morton, Agent with New York Life are partnering to present a Children’s Safety Event.
Date: Thursday November 17, 2016
Time: Parent(s) may stop by with their child(ren) any time between 4pm-7pm

Darien, CT 06820 (entrance is under the brick archway next to the Goose Restaurant)
Come receive valuable information related to children’s safety, including articles, handouts with specific tips, and suggested resources from Gold Coast Children’s Center. Information will be provided to address topics including water safety, wandering/bolting, and getting lost in the community.
All parents and guardians who attend will receive a free identification card for their children through the New York Life Child ID Program*. The ID contains the child’s name, photo, fingerprints, contact information and other pertinent information the police would need in case of emergency. Tens of thousands of children have participated over the years in the Child ID program, providing their families with peace of mind knowing that if something should ever happen to their children, they will have an ID with vital information to distribute to the local authorities.
* To receive an ID, children must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
Snacks will be provided. We will also have fun giveaways for the kids, and will be raffling off some safety-related products for families!
