Award-Winning Youth Choir Presents Seasonal Favorites from Around The World
This holiday concert is a "Gift of Song" to Fairfield County.
The Fairfield County Children's Choir invites you to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year at our Gift of Song holiday concert. On Sunday, December 4, our talented youth from 19 neighboring towns will sing traditional seasonal favorites and new selections inspired by our diversity initiative. Tickets are $15-45, which includes your seat at the in-person concert or access to the livestream. Purchase your ticket today at theklein.org.
The Gift of Song concert will comprise popular holiday songs, including Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Let It Snow, and Hanukkah's Child, as well as seasonal selections inspired by fellow choristers and the larger community. Performance highlights include:
- A wonderful Arabic song that incorporates Muslim and French elements was introduced to us by a chorister whose family is from Pakistan, Vivre, Aimer, Partager – Live, Love, Share;
- The lovely Halle, Halleluja, was composed by one of our chorister's parents, John Michniewicz.
Our chorister's powerful intertwined voices will also perform songs inspired by current events and the diversity of our choir. Highlights include Ukrainian Bell Carol; Misa Pequeña Para Niño, sung entirely in Spanish; and Baby Born in Bethlehem by African American composer Victor Johnson. Additional highlights include Down By the Riverside, a classic spiritual; Ale Brider, a traditional Yiddish folksong; and a stunning arrangement, Still, Still, Still, by John Rutter. We will close our concert with Let There Be Peace on Earth, an enduring, beautiful, and relevant song.
Music Director & Founder Jon Noyes and conductors Lisa Bettke, Jacqueline Sugrue-Tait, and Ashley Zadravecz created this concert to showcase our talented and diverse group of singers. "The music we choose to sing reflects this," said Noyes.
"The FCCC's Gift of Song will celebrate our vibrant community," added Executive Director Sarah Duff. "This concert is a wonderful holiday gift that the whole family will enjoy!"
