Learning to tell stories and then to write them is an important part of oral language development and then of literacy. Using her extensive expertise, Dr. Lydia Soifer will describe how a sense of narrative develops in children, and demonstrate how to nurture a child’s listening, recounting, and storytelling skills. Dr. Soifer is a language pathologist and literacy specialist with over 45 years of experience in clinical settings. She is a faculty member in the Early Intervention Training Institute at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the co-founder of a new elementary school.
