What Lurks Beneath: GHOST SHIP at Mystic Seaport Museum
On select dates this October, an epic immersive theatrical Halloween adventure is overtaking Mystic Seaport Museum—and it’s unlike anything we’ve done before. The Grampus set sail for a three-year whaling expedition in October of 1826. After a brutal storm in the North Atlantic, rations ran out and there was a violent mutiny on board. The Grampus went adrift. The ravenous crew was never heard from again, and there were thought to be no survivors. Until tonight. The Grampus has shown up at the seaport docks after being lost at sea for two centuries—and the hungry whalers on board are looking for mischief, mayhem, and revenge. Join the rowdy, mutinous ghost whalers of the Grampus as they tell their story and battle the supernatural forces that dragged them back, in a wild, riveting, seaside homecoming party, 200 years in the making. Recommended for ages 12 and up. This one is swashbuckling, spooky, and not for the faint of heart.
