Worldwide Lights Celebration at Stepping Stones

It’s the “brightest” time of the year at Stepping Stones Museum for Children as the museum brings light to learning during its annual Worldwide Lights Celebration. From November 14 – December 31, it’s a season of sparkle and delight as our award-winning children’s museum illuminates learning during the year-end time frame. The museum shines during its annual exploration of the science and art of life and immersive investigation of how light is a centerpiece of celebrations around the world. The Worldwide Lights Celebration features the Stepping Stones Storytellers, light STEAM stations, special holiday performances, character sightings including BooZoo™, daily Holiday Happenings workshops, immersive displays and so much more! These Worldwide Lights Celebration experiences are free with museum admission.

Kids’ Drop-off: Holiday Cookies & Crafts - Great Hollow

Kids, join us for an afternoon of crafting and fun. You’ll decorate a large gingerbread man from American Pie Company with icing and candy and also get to create two ornaments and a holiday bell door hanger to take home with you. This is a drop-off program open to children ages 6-12. Registration is $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Price includes the gingerbread house and all decorating supplies. Space is limited and advanced registration and payment are required.

A Christmas Carol at The Legacy Theatre

This classic tale by Charles Dickens, whose forward in the novel states, “I have endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it. - C. D.” is a timeless story that indeed has pleasantly haunted generations of audiences around the globe. Adapted and directed by Keely Baisden Knudsen with an original score by Keely Baisden Knudsen and David Bell, this story illuminates the journey of one Ebenezer Scrooge and his guided self-reflection amidst the Christmas season in 1800s England.

Welcome to Candy Cane Land, the Premiere farm that grows the world-supply of peppermint candy. However, it looks like the Peppermint Patch’s harvest for the year has disappeared. Guests must set out into the sugar coated wilderness and unlock the magic within to find the missing minted treasure. We are so excited to bring Lachat's popular Candy Cane Hunt back for its 5th year. This year's hunt will be more interactive with clues and a scavenger hunt. Every child participating in the hunt must have a ticket (no exceptions). Suggested age is 4 - 11 years old or kids at heart. Adults do not need tickets. Please arrive at your start time. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear proper footwear for hiking and dress very warmly. This is a rain or snow event.
