Shoott is a small female-run startup that provides fun and convenient 30 min photo sessions with photographers whose work has been featured in Elle, GQ, Vanity Fair, and the like. Our mission is to provide great photography to everybody – so our sessions are complimentary and our photos are priced at just $15 each or less, with no obligation to buy.

Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center is a nonprofit dedicated to providing high-quality education and artistic expression in dance, music, visual arts, and theater for all ages. Guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, the DAC serves hundreds of students weekly and engages hundreds more through performances and community arts programs. Our success is made possible by the continued support of local residents, and we remain committed to offering exceptional arts opportunities for families and the community.

Amateur Astronomers Association, Inc. was organized in 1927 to promote the study of Astronomy, emphasizing its cultural and inspirational value. We sponsor free lectures by leading researchers, provide economical classes in astronomy to members, plan free solar observing and nighttime sky observing, and offer a school outreach program. An aquarium devoted to Long Island Sound, with sharks, seals, sea turtles, jellies & more, plus marine-science programs for schools & the public, including hands-on cruises onto the Sound. The Maritime Aquarium features some 7,000 marine animals of 300 species, including harbor seals, 9-foot sharks, curious river otters, loveable sea turtles, pulsing jellyfish and more – all native to nearby Long Island Sound and its watershed.  These animals serve as ambassadors both for their species and the Sound’s natural environment. Guests' intimate encounters are the heart of the learning experience ... and the inspiration for new generations of Long Island Sound stewards. Hands-on experiences include: an Intertidal Touch Tank with sea stars, crabs and other shoreline creatures; a Shark & Ray Touch Pool with graceful creatures that don’t mind a stroke on the back; and Jiggle A Jelly, letting guests do something they’ve been told all their lives NOT to do: touch live jellies.

Earthplace offers educational programs for all ages, including Preschool, Summer Camp, year-round nature activities, and Harbor Watch programs, providing hands-on, nature-based learning opportunities. Our afterschool programs and internships provide unique experiential pathways that extend beyond traditional school curricula.
