CAG CreativityCon 'Creative Thinking, Deeper Learning: A forum to energize creativity in education' takes place Friday, October 21, 2016 at Housatonic Community College, 900 Lafayette Blvd., Bridgeport.
Creative thinking is vitally needed in the education of our children, in order to raise happy, hardworking problem-solvers who can adapt to an ever-changing world. Often it is lack of opportunity for creative thinking and learning that stunts the growth and progress of students, including those who are gifted and highly creative. This lack of opportunity also can cause them to lose interest in school.
CAG is committed to connecting teachers in Connecticut and the region with leading thinkers and expert educators in a diversity of fields that value creativity in learning. With this aim, CreativityCon was born in 2014.
CreativityCon is committed to giving educators the opportunity to experience creative learning themselves. We have partnered with educator and author Kathryn Haydon of Sparkitivity (http://sparkitivity.com), with co-host Housatonic Community College (http://housatonic.edu/index.asp) and their Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (http://housatonic.edu/MFG/index.asp) and with the Midwest Torrance Center for Creativity / The Center for Gifted (http://www.centerforgifted.org/).
