GSOFCT Camp Laurel (Day)

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 08/02/2019
Sprawling fields, rustic buildings, and an intricate trail network set the scene for an amazing camp experience. Girls will explore their surroundings while hiking, swimming, challenging themselves to try new activities, and cherishing their camp friendships and memories. Every girl receives lunch, a snack, and swim instruction. Each week reflects a different theme.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Week 1 (6/24-6/28)
Wands, Wings, and Wonder: Transform into a butterfly, fairy, or wizard as you explore the wonders of nature and camp. Make a butterfly garden, design a fairy house, create outdoor art, and participate in a pop-up dance program. End the week with a one-of-a-kind party for wizards of all ages.

Week 2 (7/1-7/5)
Think Like a Detective: Hone your investigative skills as you participate in an all-camp "Who Done It" mystery. Interview suspects, track prints, and collect clues around camp. Put your problem-solving skills to the test. This week, campers in grades 4 and up are invited to an optional overnight camp-out.

Week 3 (7/8-7/12)
Art, Arrows, and Adventure: Take in the inspiration of the outdoors and design your masterpiece! Discover the artist in you while experimenting with different paints, materials, canvases, and scenery - then display your talents at an art show at the end of the week. Campers in grades 4 and up can also participate in an archery tournament. And all campers will take their outdoor adventure to the next level with CAMP QUEST!

Week 4 (7/15-7/19)
Time Travelers: Build a time machine and travel back to the Wild West, the "hippie days," and the disco era. (Don't worry, campers will be back in time for parent pick-up!) Campers in grades 4 and up are invited to a "Very Groovy Sleepover" under the stars, where they can stay up late, sleep in, and get up for some late-morning activities.

Week 5 (7/22-7/26)
Campfire Chef: Get ready for a week of culinary adventure! Learn to cook over a campfire and prepare meals to enter in our Campfire Chef Competition! Events will include a cookie bake-off and a candlelight meal to cap off the week.

Week 6 (7/29-8/2)
Take a Walk on the Wild Side: Calling all creatures of the wild! Explore the forest with trailblazing and hiking. Dress as your favorite animal for a jungle party. Plus, for campers in grades 4 and up, a sleepover designed for the truly wild!
