Warm Wisdom Incubation & Embryology Educational Program with wundorwoven

Learn how to incubate and hatch chicks AT YOUR HOME: we will provide all equipment, fertile eggs, educational materials and individualized coaching for a stress-free, magical experience!! Seems like such a simple thing… not much to it… but the benefits of allowing a child – especially in urban/suburban areas – to experience the fascination of accompanying the development of an egg into a small chicken (and possibly beyond!) can be astonishing and are impossible to measure. We believe such experiences foster a deep respect and gratitude towards Nature, animals, and our “daily food”. This is a seasonal, fully-supported program, by which families or groups (seniors/clubs) sign up to incubate and raise chicks for the first weeks of their lives (possibly longer if the participant is up for it!) (Keep your peeps or we will bring them back to our farm in Southern Vermont - no long-term commitment!) Available to many areas of NY, CT, NH, MA and VT. Email us!

Hamden Hall Country Day School
Hamden Hall Country Day School

Hamden Hall Country Day School is a leader in educational excellence. We employed our distance learning model, Virtual Halls Under the Pines, during the final semester of the 2019-2020 school year. We were also proud to share digital resources with non-Hamden Hall families during that time as part of our ongoing mission to provide educational opportunities to the greater community. Our 2020-2021 school year commences Sept. 1, at which time we welcome our students back to campus.

Hamden Hall is in the unique and fortunate position of owning three campuses and substantial property. As such, we will commence the 2020-2021 school year with all of our students, faculty, and staff on campus. We are excited to return to our beautiful campuses and will utilize all three of them – 1108 Whitney Avenue, 20 Davis Street, and our Skiff Street Athletic Complex – to better provide a healthy and safe environment that fosters our commitment to excellence. Through the use of all of our properties, we are able to spread our students and staff out as much as possible and reduce the overall density. The end result is a reduction in the number of students in certain classes, the creation of larger physical classrooms, and limited overall interaction with regard to campus foot traffic.

For prospective families, please note that we have many options for you to explore and learn more about what we mean by The Hamden Hall Experience. Contact our Admissions Team at 203.752.2610.

School of Rock Performance-Based Music Programs Rock Socializing— With Social Distancing

Kids have been inspired in the School of Rock community for the last 8 and half years, learning music by playing music– together. Through programs designed for all skill levels, students go from lessons and rehearsal to performance– developing confidence, talent and teamwork skills along the way. Students, ages 7 to 18 engage in a private, one-on-one lesson. Those weekly lessons come with a bonus: the chance to be a rock star. Once enrolled, students become part of a band as well, and play in a socially distanced rehearsal each week. Bands are determined by skill level and age. They practice together for a season (about 4 months) and then play a show. This unique approach allows students to use what they learn from their teacher in the real-world setting of a band, comprised of their peers. They learn to rock on stage and in life.

School of Rock community members also have access to our one-of-a-kind, fully integrated Method app. The App provides an enhanced learning experience and reinforced practice schedule. Parents and students know what should be worked on and progress can be tracked.

Programs—Something For All Ages
