Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet offers dancers ballet instruction which sets the foundation for the primary student and nurtures the pre-professional artist. More than ballet instruction, at NMYB your child will be part of a community of dancers with mentors who will nurture their development. During NMYB’s year-round season dancers are trained to develop their technique, artistry, and personality through classical and contemporary technique classes, creative movement, pointe, men’s class, partnering class, and ensemble experiences. NMYB’s Apprentice Ensemble and Ensemble Ètoile dancers benefit from the opportunity to compete in the world’s largest ballet competition, Youth America Grand Prix. Whether a recreational dancer or one who has aspirations of a professional ballet path, NMYB is the place for you!

The Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet was created in 2014 by brothers Christopher and Adam Holms.  The Holms brothers share a common belief that participation in the arts not only changes lives, but also holds powerful and creative potential to reshape the future of our communities.

The Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet is proud to herald in a new era of creativity and mentorship.  NMYB has designed a curriculum which respects the traditions and canons of classical dance. Our goal is to provide a technically comprehensive and artistically meaningful education. We are prepared to meet the needs of both recreational dancers as well as individuals who hope to pursue a career in the arts. We look forward to serving the communitywith integrity and compassion by providing enrichment services to under-served populations.

This is a fertile time of rapid growth and creation at NMYB with an aim toward becoming leaders in the community and advocates for dance education in the greater Norwalk area. Please take a moment to review the upcoming summer 2015 workshops, the current 2014-2015 class offerings, Ensemble Ètoile, as well as our En Pointe residency program.

Join us in our Inaugural 2014-2015 Season to becomme an NMYB Charter Family. We look forward to creating a lasting and meaningful partnership with the families and patrons of the arts in southern Connecticut.
