Sampler 1 - One Week Overnight Camp

Camp Hazen YMCA’s One-Week Sampler Camp is designed for campers who want to experience overnight camp in a shorter, welcoming session. It is especially popular with first-time campers and families who are curious about the overnight camp experience but prefer to start with a one-week stay. The program gives campers the opportunity to experience the spirit, traditions, and community of Camp Hazen while building confidence and independence in a supportive environment.
Campers live in small cabin groups with caring, well-trained counselors who guide them through a full schedule of classic camp activities. Days are filled with swimming, boating, creative arts, land sports, outdoor adventure, and group games. Campers also take part in evening programs, campfires, and all-camp traditions that help create a strong sense of belonging and community. The structure of the program allows campers to try a variety of activities while discovering new interests and building friendships with their cabin mates.
At Camp Hazen YMCA, the focus is on helping campers grow socially and emotionally while having fun outdoors. Campers learn teamwork, independence, and resilience as they try new challenges and support one another. Our experienced staff work hard to ensure that every camper feels included, safe, and encouraged throughout the week.
