STEP: An emergency preparedness program for children in fifth grade

As part of the National Youth Preparedness Education movement, this program is designed to empower youth by helping them prepare themselves and their families for natural disasters.

Participants will learn which natural disasters are most likely in this area and what steps they can take to prepare. They will each receive a personal disaster backpack with a few essential supplies to which they can add personal items at home.
