SUNDAY MAY 22nd
10:00-11:00am  PEACOCKS
11:15-12:15pm   BOATS
12:30-1:30pm  BIRDBATHS

BOATS – we use small slabs to create the structure of the boat and then add details (seats, oars, etc) – they can create a side “pouch” or a separate bucket for fish (glass melts to create “water” in it) and we use stamps to decorate the boat. Finished pieces are adorned with an anchor & life ring… and a fish is added to the pouch/bucket!

BIRD BATHS - created from two hand-shaped bowls (base & bowl) inverted and attached – details are added with tools/stamps & add-on birds are attached. I put blue glass pieces in the birdbath in the second firing & the glass melts to create “water”.

VASE HOUSES (*I suggest age 7+ for this project) - I LOVE THESE! these little houses are created from small slabs and details are added – the house is erected on a small slab and a closed tube chimney is added. The chimney will be glazed inside so that it can hold water for some fresh picked wild flowers!
PEACOCKS BOWLS - The kids create a bowl shaped base and cut-out/decorate & attach “feathers” & head. We put holes in the top of the head for craft feathers to be added after firing. These are approx. 5-6" in diameter

BEEHIVES – Hives are hand shaped and the kids roll out clay coils to attach to the exterior. Hand built bees are created & attached and they create a small “fresh honey” pot with (melted glass) “honey” in it.

*PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED* All clay workshop sessions are held in my cozy barn studio at my Trumbull (Nichols) home *quick & easy access off merritt pkwy OR route 8. The kids (AGE 5 - TEENS) work with fresh clay to create a hand-built keepsake that will be dried and fired 2x (bisque & glaze fired) in my kiln. Nothing is pre-cast. Items are packaged, tagged & ready for pick up in approximately 3 weeks.

Space allows maximum of 6 kids per workshop. Sessions are one-hour long *unless otherwise noted* (drop off & pick up!). $25 per child.

I run the workshops approximately 2 weekends per month and on various "no school"/vacation days.  Visit my Facebook page to see photos past workshops:  https://www.facebook.com/clayworkshops4kids  Sign up/inquiries via email dana2@snet.net
