Welcome to Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center.
Infant & Toddler Care ~ Flexible Nursery Program ~ Mixed-Age Kindergarten ~ Parent & Child Classes ~ Virtual Parenting Program
Located in the bucolic Wilton, CT, we are a lovely piece of heaven in a bustling world. Our Waldorf Accredited Early Childhood Programs and Family Center trusts in the wisdom of the child through imaginative play, nature, community, movement, and daily rhythms that lay the foundation for academic learning and inner confidence.
Pass through our doors and enter a world of imagination, where your little one will experience a warm, creative, and nurturing environment. Through a daily rhythm of outward and inward breath activities which include playing on the playground, circle time, painting, story telling, puppetry, snack and eurythmy, they will gain confidence and social skills.
Our mission is to further Waldorf Education by building a Waldorf center for family support and early childhood education. Through creating parenting workshops, cultivating festival life and holding early childhood classes, we will work to support mothers-to-be, new families and young children (birth to seven). The family center will prepare each child for his or her future development. We will receive the children in warmth, rhythm and reverence. The early childhood classes will support the development of the child's physical body and the child's will by teaching through example. We will actively work on our own inner growth in an effort to be worthy of imitation.
The philosophy of Apple Blossom is based on the pedagogy developed by Rudolf Steiner, which is common to Waldorf Schools throughout the world. Steiner stressed the importance of rich, imaginative play in a child's life. Our Early Childhood Programs support the healthy development of the young child's multiple intelligences and physical growth. The curriculum nurtures the imagination, an important aspect of thinking, through play, artistic activities, and language development with song, puppetry and story telling.
"We like that our kids climb trees, plant flowers and harvest vegetables from the garden. We like that they celebrate and embrace all seasons and that outdoor playtime is an essential ingredient to the day. We like that children know what kneading dough feels like and how wonderful warm, fresh bread tastes. We like that little fingers gain confidence and coordination by learning to knit and sew. We like that their imaginations are free to roam while their curiosity and creativity is nurtured through art and story telling. We like that our children come home with rosy cheeks, a healthy glow, a skip in their step and a song in their heart. But most importantly, we like that they are free to be children and that they are happy!"

"Apple Blossom will always be thought of as "the gift" my daughter received during her early childhood. It was there that a beautiful, strong foundation was built that will carry her through out her life. The teachers and families were dedicated, loving and offered wise guidance in parenting. As I watch my daughter grow more secure and independent in life, I am always thankful and grateful for the 3 1/2 years we shared at Apple Blossom."
"There is a magic about this school that surrounds all who enter with warmth. I was looking for a place for my child, but I ended up finding a place for myself, as well. I cannot overstate the importance of that. Waldorf is a philosophy. Although you will be held with warmth, whether you understand or care about the philosophy, or not, having that place that you can continue to educate yourself and slowly sink into yourself in your new role as a mother is one of the many, many reasons Apple Blossom is magical."

Pillars of Parenting
An 8-Week Waldorf-Inspired Virtual Offering for Caregivers of Children Ages Birth to Seven. This class provides foundational support and tangible resources to enable you to consciously meet your child's developmental needs with intention, confidence, and care.
Join our wise Waldorf guides Betsy Priest and Donna Mayo and a virtual community of parents across the globe for 8-weeks of Waldorf inspired parenting support.
Each week, we will release a video and resources on a specific care giving theme that participants can access on their own time. These resources will expound upon foundational parenting topics and include accessible resources for caregivers of children birth to age seven, such as songs, crafts, recipes, and educational materials to build your toolkit.
We will meet Tuesday evenings on Zoom for discussion, questions, and community as we navigate the ups and downs of conscious parenting.
