2012 Survey of Connecticut's Best for Kids in Fairfield County, Connecticut
In June and July, 2012, KidsOutAndAbout surveyed over 1000 parents from around Fairfield County, CT to determine their favorite places to take their kids. (Here are the results of our 2011 survey, in case you're interested in seeing how the positions have changed.) What emerged most decisively from all of the results is that Connecticut is filled with wonderful opportunities to engage kids culturally, educationally, and for just plain fun! What is listed below are far from the only opportunities for family fun and learning; they're just what was voted this year. Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo - Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo creates wonderfully wild experiences for children and families all year 'round. Located on 52 beautiful acres in Bridgeport, the state’s only zoo features more than 300 animals representing primarily North and South American species. Explore our South American Rainforest with free-flight aviary, the New England Farmyard, Victorian Greenhouse, and prairie dog exhibit with "pop-up" viewing areas.
